Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the immunopotentiation of salidroside, tyrosol and rosavin of major ingredient of Rhodiola on mouse immune system. METHODS LPS-induced and ConA-induced mouse peripheral blood lymphocyte proliferation and transformation, and phagocytosis of Rhodiola on peripheral blood leukocyte and peritoneal macrophage were analysed by MTT assay, Giemsa staining and NO detection kit. RESULTS Compared with solvent control group, the salidroside group could increase proliferation and transformation of T/B cells significantly, and also improved phagocytosis of peripheral blood leukocyte and peritoneal macrophage(P<0.05). Moreover, there was significant difference between the tyrosol group (62.5-250 μg·mL
-1) and levamisole hydrochloride (positive drug) group on LPS-induced B cells. And rosavin could obviously increase the transformation of mouse T cells compared with solvent control group. CONCLUSION Three main active substance of Rhodiola can enhance mouse non-specific and specific immune response, and activity of T/B cells and macrophage.
