Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of Capparis Spinosa Total Alkaloid cream on the tissue fibrosis in systemic sclerosis(SSc) mice. METHODS SSc mice model was established by repeated local injections of bleomycin in BALB/c mice back. After therapy by Capparis Spinosa Total Alkaloid cream, the dermis thickness was examined, and the hydroxyproli(Hyp) and collagen-Ⅰ(Col-Ⅰ) content in the skin and lung tissue were detected by ELISA. RESULTS Compared with the model group, the dermis thickness and the levels of Hyp in the skin tissues were markedly decreased by moderate and high dose of Capparis Spinosa Total Alkaloid cream(P<0.05 or 0.01). The level of Col-Ⅰ in the lung tissue was markedly decreased by high dose Capparis Spinosa Total Alkaloid cream(P<0.01). CONCLUSION Capparis Spinosa Total Alkaloid cream is effective in treating fibrosis of SSc.
