Abstract:
OBJECTIVE Analysis serum proteome of constitution of nonsymptomatic, agglomeration of dampness and heat syndrome, and spleen deficiency syndrome in colon cancer. METHODS Two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry were used to screen the differentially expressed plasma proteins among patients with nonsymptomatic group, agglomeration of dampness and heat group, and spleen deficiency group. RESULTS Compared with nonsymptomatic group, vitamin D-binding protein was significantly highly expressed in agglomeration of dampness and heat group, and hemopexin precursor, GDP dissociation inhibitor beta, apolipoprotein A-I precursor, clusterin, vitamin D-binding protein were decreased in their plasma; while GDP dissociation inhibitor beta, clusterin, hemopexin precursor was significantly highly expressed in spleen deficiency group, and apolipoprotein A-I precursor, vitamin D-binding protein, apolipoprotein A-I precursor, and albumin preproprotein were decreased in their plasma. CONCLUSION The different syndrome of palliative therapy period in colon cancer could be attributed to the amount of proteins’ expression. Research technique of “Different syndromes with same disease” is the way to filt the specific object target of syndrome nature.
