Abstract: OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of practolol oral liquid on cardiodynamics, level of BNP, cTnI, LDH in serum, left ventricular index and heart index of chronic heart failure rat model. METHODS Sixty rats were divided into 6 groups randomly: model group, sham-operated group, high, medium, low dose practolol oral liquid groups, and Qiliqiangxin capsule suspension group. Model group and sham-operated group were fed with normal saline. Administered continuously for 6 weeks, cardiodynamics, level of BNP, cTnI, LDH in serum, left ventricular index and heart index were determined. RESULTS Chronic heart failure rat model was established successfully. Compared with model group, the medium dose group could increase cardiac HR levels obviously(P<0.05), the high and medium dose groups could increase cardiac LVSP level obviously(P<0.05). Every group had the trend of reducing cardiac LVEDP level and increasing cardiac change rate of LVSP(P>0.05). The medium and low dose groups could reduce BNP level in serum obviously(P<0.05), the high dose group could reduce cTnI level in serum obviously(P<0.05), every group could reduce LDH level significantly(P<0.01), the medium dose group could reduce left ventricular index and heart index significantly(P<0.01), the small dose group could reduce left ventricular index obviously(P<0.05). CONCLUSION Practolol oral liquid has the effect of ameliorating chronic heart failure of rat.
