Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the focal adhesion kinase (FAK) and urokinase-type plasminogen activator(uPA) expression in adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) and the correlation between them, and relationship between FAK, uPA and clinical pathological type of adenoid cystic carcinoma. METHODS Immunohistochemistry method was used. Forty cases of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma, 30 cases of pleomorphic adenoma and 30 cases of normal salivary gland tissue of FAK and uPA expression were detected. RESULTS FAK and uPA, the positive expression rate in normal salivary gland tissue, pleomorphic adenoma, ACC, in turn increased, the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05); transfer group were higher than that of the non-metastatic group, nerve invasion group were higher than that of non-infringement group(P<0.05). CONCLUSION Expression of FAK and uPA in the ACC is closely correlated, they are related with the ACC clinical types, which can be used as an important indicator to judge the ACC invasion, metastasis and prognosis.
