Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of Guiluyanggu decoction on the patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) and its possible mechanism. METHODS The 120 patients of PMOP were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group was administered with Guiluyanggu decoction while the control group was given Luogaiquan(10 mg·d
-1). The treatment lasted for 6 months. The levels of BMD, ALP, E2 and IL-6 before and after treatment were observed. RESULTS After 6 months, the treatment group was significantly better than before treatment in increasing BMD, ALT, E2 and decreasing IL-6(P<0.05). CONCLUSION Guiluyanggu decoction can significantly improve the symptoms and increase the levels of BMD, ALT and E2. It is good for PMOP than Luogaiquan which should be applied generally.
