Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of the aerial parts of Cynanchum chinense R. Br.
METHODS The compounds were extracted and purified by AB-8 macroporous resins, silica gel column chromatography, LX2000 resin and Sephadex LH-20 columns. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of physico-chemical properties and NMR spectral analysis.
RESULTS Nine compounds were obtained from 70% aqueous ethanol extract of Cynanchum chinense and elucidated as n-hexadecanioc acid (Ⅰ), salicylic acid (Ⅱ), β-sitosterol (Ⅲ), β-sitosterolglucoside (Ⅳ), apigenin (Ⅴ), kaemperol (Ⅵ), kaemperol-3-O-β-D-glunoside (Ⅶ), tricin (Ⅷ), and tricin-7-O-β-D-glucuronide (Ⅸ).
CONCLUSION Compounds Ⅴ, Ⅷ and Ⅸ were obtained from this genus, and compounds Ⅰ, Ⅱand Ⅴ-Ⅸ were isolated from this plant for the first time.
