Abstract: OBJECTIVE To identify Radix astragali, Radix angelicae sinensis and Radix polygoni multiflori by TLC and determine the content of Peoniflorin by HPLC. METHODS The RP-HPLC was used with an Inertex C18 colunm at room temperature, the flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1 and the detection wavelength was 283 nm. RESULTS In accordance with Paeoniae radix content limit in Ch.P (2005), test extrat contents peoniflorin not less than 0.4 mg per milliliter. CONCLUSION The methods of thin layer chromatography and HPLC can control the drug's quality.
