Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To establish a method for quality control of
Verbenae Herba. METHODS Verbenalin, hastatoside and acteoside in
Verbena officinalis L. were identified by TLC. Their contents were determined by HPLC equipped with Agilent Eclipse XDB C
18 (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm) column, the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-methanol-water, the anlysis was done at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min
-1, the column temperature was 30 ℃ and the detection wavelength was 238 nm. RESULTS The linearities of verbenalin, hastatoside and acteoside were in the ranges of 0.05-1.26 μg(
r=0.999 9), 0.10-2.58 μg(
r=0.999 8) and 0.09-2.20 μg (
r=0.999 5), respectively. The average recoveries (
n=9) were 96.8% (RSD=1.15%) for verbenalin, 98.3% (RSD=2.34%) for hastatoside, and 98.2% (RSD=2.28%) for acteoside. CONCLUSION This method is simple, accurate with good reproducibility. It is suitable for quality control of Verbenae Herba.
