Abstract:
Celatrol, an active compound isolated from traditional Chinese medicine Tripterygium wilfordii Hook. f., was used in clinic practices for the treatment of rheumatism, nephritis, lupus erythematosus and dermopathy . Current researches indicated that celastrol has potent anti-Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Huntington’s disease activities. In this paper, advances in studies of celastrol anti-neurodegenerative diseases in the recent six years were reviewed.
