Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effect of scorpion venom fibrinolytic active peptide(SVFAPs) on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats. METHODS In this study, cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model was made by 2 hours of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) followed by 24 hours of reperfusion in rats¢ right cerebral. Rats were pretreated with SVFAPs 0.1, 0.2, 0.4 mg·kg
-1, nimodipine 0.7 mg·kg
-1 once a day for 7 days and then subjected to MCAO. We examined neurological infarction size by 2, 3, 5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining technique, the neurological deficit scores grading on a scale of 0-5, and the contents of IL-6, TNF-α and IL-8 in the serum. RESULTS SVFAPs could obviously decrease infarction volumes, neurological deficit scores (
P<0.05). And SVFAPs inhibited the expression of IL-6, TNF-α and IL-8(
P<0.05). CONCLUSION SVFAPs may play a neural protection effect by inhibiting the expression of IL-6, TNF-α and IL-8.
