Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the preventive effect of lipase on the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in rats induced by high fat diet.
METHODS Sixty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group, model group and lipase high, medium and low-dose treatment groups. Rats in model group and lipase groups fed on high fat diet to form the NAFLD model, lipase groups fed on lipase at the same time. All rats were sacrificed after 12 weeks and their serum TG, TC, HDL-C levels were determined and the TC/HDL-C ratio was calculated. Hepatic tissues were detected by HE staining.
RESULTS Lipase effectively reduced the body weight and the liver weight index of rats, significantly reduced serum TG, TC content and intrahepatic fat deposition, and improved the fatty liver disease, but the HDL-C content had no significant change.
CONCLUSION Lipase can effectively prevent and control NAFLD in rats.
