Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the challenges facing the cultivation of high-caliber traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) professionals in China in the new era and explore pathways to improve the talent-training system, providing a reference for developing a system that meets the needs of the Healthy China strategy and the TCM industry.
METHODS Grounded in the national strategy for revitalizing and developing TCM, it used Zhejiang Province as a case study. Employing literature visualization and empirical research methods, it systematically examined the existing foundation for cultivating high-caliber TCM professionals in Zhejiang and explored targeted solutions aligned with regional development realities.
RESULTS Zhejiang established a talent cultivation system integrating institutional education, apprenticeship training, and continuing education, with both the scale and quality of its talent pool continuously improving. However, structural and systemic issues persisted relative to high-quality development requirements.
CONCLUSION Breaking from traditional paradigms and shifting toward systemic innovation is essential. Collaborative efforts must focus on three dimensions: “expanding supply channels” “strengthening grassroots service capabilities” and “improving training management mechanisms”. Only by constructing a multidimensional, integrated innovation pathway can a high-quality TCM talent education system adapted to regional development needs be established. This approach aims to provide regional practical references for cultivating high-quality TCM talent nationwide.
