Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To provide reference and thought for implementing pharmaceutical care for patients with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura(TTP).
METHODS Clinical pharmacists participated in the treatment of a patient with TTP accompanied by infection and thrombosis, and provided individualized pharmaceutical care for the patient from the aspects of formulation and adjustment of anti-infection and anticoagulation programs, and the influence of plasma exchange on drugs.
RESULTS The doctor adopted the medication suggestions of the clinical pharmacist. After the treatment, the patient’s platelets returned to normal, infection and renal function improved, international normalized ratio reached the standard, and the patient was discharged successfully.
CONCLUSION Providing pharmaceutical professional services by clinical pharmacists during the clinical diagnosis and treatment process is beneficial for improving the effectiveness, safety, and rationality of drug treatment for patients with TTP.
