Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the antifungal treatment of 1 rare case of disseminated mucormycosis complicated by aspergillus infection.
METHODS Based on evidence-based guidelines, the patient’s antifungal regimen was analyzed, clinical efficacy was closely monitored, and the potential adverse reactions and symptomatic support were noted.
RESULTS The patient received combination antifungal therapy with liposomal amphotericin B and isavuconazole, and clinical manifestations and imaging findings showed that the treatment was effective. Nephrotoxicity and drug-induced fever occurred as adverse reactions while liposomal amphotericin B was administered. The clinical pharmacist recommended corresponding intervention measures. Subsequently, the patient’s condition became stable and the patient was discharged.
CONCLUSION Liposomal amphotericin B combined with isavuconazole is effective against disseminated mucormycosis complicated by aspergillus infection. Close monitoring for adverse drug reactions including nephrotoxicity and drug-induced fever is required during the administration of liposomal amphotericin B, and symptomatic treatment can manage these adverse reactions.
