Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To establish a method for rapid identification of chemical components of Dendrobium officinale growing on different host trees by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS combined with multivariate analysis, and to investigate the quality differences among different epiphytic tree species of Dendrobium officinale.
METHODS The UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS method was used to analyze the chemical components of Dendrobium officinale growing on Taxus chinensis var. mairei. Principal component analysis(PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA) were applied to perform multivariate analysis on the differences in components of Dendrobium officinale growing on Taxus chinensis var. mairei and other trees.
RESULTS A total of 149 chemical components were identified in Dendrobium officinale growing on Taxus chinensis var. mairei, mainly including phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenols, and volatile oils. Significant differences in chemical components were observed among Dendrobium officinale from different parts of Taxus chinensis var. mairei and other trees. Fourteen differential compounds were identified between the Dendrobium officinale growing on Taxus chinensis var. mairei and under the trees, and 11 differential compounds were identified between Dendrobium officinale growing on Taxus chinensis var. mairei and those growing on other tree species.
CONCLUSION This study provides a scientific basis for the selection of host trees for Dendrobium officinale, and offers a reference for its bionic cultivation.
