The plants of genus
Chimonanthus have high ornamental and medicinal value. It has antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, analgesic and other pharmacological activities. However, current research focus mostly on its germplasm resources, species classification, chemical composition and clinical application, and lacks a systematic summary of molecular biology. This article sorted out the research results of genomics, molecular markers, molecular identification, transcriptomics and functional gene cloning, in order to systematically summarized the progress of phylogenetic evolution, genetic diversity, taxonomic identification, secondary metabolism, stress resistance mechanism, growth and development of medicinal plants of the genus
Chimonanthus. And the current urgent problems and research prospects were prospected, in order to provide theoretical reference and research ideas for accelerating the in-depth development and application of medicinal plants of the genus
Chimonanthus.
