Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To know the current situation of clinical pharmacy practice in main hospitals of Nantong in Jiangsu, and to provide reference for promoting its development in medical and health institutions in regions and domestic developing cities.
METHODS A mailed questionnaire investigation was conducted among 9 hospitals in Nantong regarding the current situation of the clinical pharmacy practice, and the data was statistically analyzed.
RESULTS 76.47% full-time clinical pharmacists and 20.00% part-time ones were trained to obtain clinical pharmacist qualifications. The top 4 clinical major field that clinical pharmacists studied in were anti-infective, cardiology, anti-tumor and respiratory drugs. The surveyed hospital had the highest proportion of clinical pharmacy related work, such as participation in daily physician rounds, doctor's advice and prescription review, special review, special review of antibiotics, drug record writing, antimicrobial intervention after the fact, pharmaceutical information service, outpatient drug consultation, medical education for discharge, medication experience sharing with ward medical staff and ADR monitoring, all being 100.00%. Clinical consultancy occupied the lowest proportion of clinical pharmacy work(0). The proportion, workload and scientific payoffs of clinical pharmacy work in training base hospitals was mostly higher than that in non-training base hospitals.
CONCLUSION It is suggested to strengthen the construction of clinical pharmacist team in surveyed hospitals in Nantong, improve service capability by multiple ways, enhance the depth of clinical pharmacy related work, enhance scientific research and innovation capacity, and at the same time, further promote the development of clinical pharmacy in non-training base hospitals.
