Abstract: OBJECTIVE To provide reference for clinical medicine the development of potential new prescriptions, based on association rules and cluster analysis discusses the rule of Chinese patent medicine contain dodder weed. METHODS Making Chinese patent medicine contain dodder weed recorded in Chinese pharmacopoeia 2015 as the source, used Excel 2013, SPSS Modeler 14.1 and SPSS Statistics 19.0 as statistical tools to conduct association rule and cluster analysis for included medicines. RESULTS A total of 46 kinds of Chinese patent medicine contain dodder weed were searched, containing 168 kinds of Chinese medicines. Most of the medicine tastes were sweet(431, 51.93%), bitter(153, 18.43%), warm(222, 46.06%) and neutral(162, 33.61%) in property. In the channel tropism, kidney(330, 27.30%) and liver(292, 24.15%) were the most common. In the efficiency category, deficiency-nourishing drugs(316, 65.56%) and damp-clearing drugs(35, 7.26%) were the most common. The dosage forms were mainly pill(15, 32.16%) and tablet(14, 30.43%). The association rule analysis of the high frequency medicines among 168 kinds of medicines were carried out, and 11 kinds of common drugs were obtained. Eleven kinds of common clinical diseases in traditional Chinese medicine were obtained by statistics of the main diseases treated with Chinese patent medicine contain dodder weed. In the analysis of high-frequency drug association rules, it was found that there were 5 kinds of drug pairs with the highest correlation intensity for the treatment of male anterior Yin diseases and 6 kinds of drug pairs for the treatment of nephropathy, respectively. In the cluster analysis of high-frequency drug, eight and seven categories of traditional Chinese medicines were obtained for the treatment of male anterior Yin diseases and nephropathy, respectively. CONCLUSION Based on association rules and systematic clustering analysis, dodder potential drug combinations are found to be mainly deficiency-nourishing drugs. The future can focus on the study of its compatibility with lycium barbarum and astragalus in male anterior Yin diseases and the application of its compatibility with lycium barbarum, atractylodes alba, rehmannia rehmannii and chuanxiong in nephropathy. And can study its topical use of Chinese patent medicine and dosage forms for the treatment of diseases, in order to expand the main treatment of Chinese medicine symptoms.
