Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To improve the identification of polymyxin B for injection-associated adverse reactions such as facial pigmentation, and provide recommendations for appropriate treatment.
METHODS One case of facial pigmentation induced by polymyxin B for injection in the anti-infective was described and analyzed correlation by Knott's score. The literature was also reviewed to make a summary of cutaneous.
RESULTS This patient was diagnosed with a liver transplant and was treated with polymyxin B for infection after surgery, facial hyperpigmentation was occurred.
CONCLUSION Polymyxin B causes an adverse reaction to facial pigmentation, which is not mentioned in the specification, and avoids exposure to sunlight, especially ultraviolet rays, during the administration.
