Abstract: OBJECTIVE To strengthen the drug quality management of DTA in automatic dispensing machine, improve the safety of medication and reduce the risk of medication. METHODS The data on use of DTA drugs and quality management and related instructions in Hebei Provincial People's Hospital from Nov. to Dec. 2017 was collected and used for statistical analysis. The problems were searched and optimization measures were put forward; then management results were evaluated via counting the data of quality management from Jan. to Feb. 2018. RESULTS Optimization measures:the DTA medicine bottle was changed to sealed sub-assembly medicine box; the dismantling record table of DTA drugs was reformulated, and the concept of days of use and drug dosages of use was introduced; particular person was in charge of the management of DTA drugs validity period. After taking the above measures, the numbers of dispensing errors, reported drug losses and average days of turnover had been significantly reduced. CONCLUSION Pharmacists shall regularly adjust the catalogue of DTA drugs and the numbers of dismantling according to the situation of drug use. The formulation of the measures has a positive effect on the dynamic management of DTA drugs and the improvement of drug mixed batch phenomena. Implementation of the relative measures can realize the quality management and optimization of DTA drugs and improve the safety of drug use.
