Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To establish quality control methods and limitation of
Tetrastigmae hemsleyanum from Zhejiang province.
METHODS Microscopical chatacteristics and chemical reaction were used to identify, and UV was used for determining its active ingredients(total flavonoids, total polysaccharides and total amino acids). The water content, total ash, heavy metals, harmful elements and ethanol-soluble extract were determined according to the appendix of China Pharmacopoeia (2015 Edition).
RESULTS Characteristics of chemical reaction and microscopical identification were obvious. The contents of total flavonoids, total polysaccharides and total amino acids in 12 batches of
Tetrastigmae hemsleyanum from Zhejiang province were in the range of 0.18%-0.66%, 21.59%-61.76% and 0.93%-3.68%, respectively. The results of water content, total ash and ethanol-soluble extract were in the range of 7.6%-14.3%, 2.2%-5.7% and 12.4%-22.6%. The content of Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Cu didn't exceed the limit standards of heavy metals and harmful elements which had been collected in the China Pharmacopoeia(2015 Edition).
CONCLUSION This method is simple, accurate and applicable for the quality control of
Tetrastigmae hemsleyanum from Zhejiang province.
