Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To determine the contents of Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Cu in 25 batches of Isatidis Radix.
METHODS The contents of Pb, Cd, As, Hg and Cu in 25 batches of Isatidis Radix were determined by microwave-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and the data were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 software.
RESULTS In 25 batches of Isatidis Radix, Cd, As and Hg were beyond the limits in varying degrees but Pb and Cu met the requirements of the current standard.
CONCLUSIONS The heavy metal contents and probable causes of the excessive for the standardization of Isatidis Radix are analyzed and certain basis are provided for herbs cultivation, safety evaluation and heavy metal content standards.
