Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of environmental factors on the content of flavonoids and chlorogenic acid through the determination of these components in
Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat..
METHODS The seedlings of
Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. were treated under different conditions. The treatment of ultraviolet continued 8-24 h and other treatment continued 1-3 d. The content of total flavone was determined by UV, the content of rutin, luteoloside and chlorogenic acid were determined by HPLC.
RESULTS The increase of content of total flavone, rutin, luteoloside and chlorogenicacid were rapidly induced by ultraviolet and heavy metals. The effect of low temperature, high salt and drought were not significant in 1-2 d. The accumulation of total flavone, rutin, luteoloside and chlorogenic acid were increased significantly after 3 d of treatment.
CONCLUSION Stress caused by multiple environmental factors promotes the accumulation of flavonoids and chlorogenic acid in
Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.. Ecological factors are important factors regulating the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in
Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.. It is possible to increase the content of important active substances in
Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. by controlling the environmental factors through artificial means.
