Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the effects of butylphthalide on model of bronchial asthma in guinea pigs induced by ovalbumin.
METHODS Replicated the model of bronchial asthma in guinea pigs through sensitization and excitation, the effects of butylphthalide were evaluated through behaviors of asthma, pulmonary function, inflammatory cells, IgE and pulmonary histopathology.
RESULTS The 30, 60, 120 mg·kg
-1 butylphthalide could decrease asthmatic behavior score, lung wet-dry ratio, the number of inflammatory cells in BALF and IgE in serum, improve lung function, and alleviate the pathological changes of lung tissue.
CONCLUSION Butylphthalide has anti-asthma effect on guinea pig partly because of relieving pulmonary inflammation.
