Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of
Ganoderma lucidum spore oil on liver fibrosis.
METHODS Liver fibrosis was replicated by 40% CCl
4 injection subcutaneously in SD male rats. Meantime, three doses of
Ganoderma lucidum spore oil low, medium and high(0.33, 0.67, 2.00 g·kg
-1) were used to intervene the formation of fibrosis by gavage (
n=10, per group). Plasma activities of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), malondialdehyde (MDA) and hyaluronic acid (HA), and the hepatic levels of MDA and hydroxyproline (HyP) were evaluated. Hematoxylin and eosin(HE) and Masson staining were used to observe the change of liver histology.
RESULTS Plasma activities of AST, ALT, MDA and HA all were reduced significantly by
Ganoderma lucidum spore oil in CCl
4 induced rats (
P<0.05). Similar change was observed in hepatic content of Hyp and MDA(
P<0.05), and further conformed by liver histology.
CONCLUSION Ganoderma lucidum spore oil can alleviate liver fibrosis in rats caused by CCl
4.
