Synthesis of Chloroprocaine Hydrochloride

OBJECTIVE To synthesis chloroprocaine hydrochloride and optimize the reaction conditions. METHODS The chloroprocaine hydrochloride was synthesized from 2-chloro-4-nitrobenzoic acid via reduction, esterification and salification. RESULTS The structure of product was identified by IR, ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR and MS, the total yield was 73.9% and the HPLC purity was 99.76%. CONCLUSION The synthetic process is simple, easy to control and suitable for industrial production.
