Pharmaceutical Intervention in Intravenous Infusion for Inpatients: Practices and Explorations in Maternal and Child Health Hospitals

    • OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of standardizing the intravenous infusion of hospitalized patients in maternal and child health institutions in the region through pharmaceutical intervention.
METHODS Selected 34861 hospitalized patients from Yuyao Maternal and Child Health Hospital in the region from August 2022 to July 2024 as research objects. The patients were divided into control group(August 2022 to July 2023) and intervention group(August 2023 to July 2024) according to the hospitalization time, with 15655 cases in the control group and 19206 cases in the intervention group. The differences of the indicators of intravenous infusion in hospitalized patients before and after intervention were compared.
RESULTS After taking pharmaceutical intervention measures, the intravenous infusion rate of hospitalized patients in the intervention group was reduced compared with the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05), the indicators of intravenous infusion in hospitalized patients decreased effectively.
CONCLUSION Pharmaceutical intervention measures can effectively reduce the rate of intravenous infusion in hospitalized patients, standardize intravenous infusion in hospitalized patients, improve rational drug use, and ensure the safety, effectiveness and economy of drug use in patients.
