Abstract
Farnesoid X receptor(FXR) is a member of nuclear receptor superfamily, which is widely expressed in human and animals. It can be directly activated by most bile acids in the body and plays an important role in physiological and pathological regulation. As a metabolic nuclear receptor, FXR is closely related to the risk factors of hypertension(abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis, obesity). The related signal pathways mediated by FXR may participate in the regulation of hypertension pathophysiology by acting on blood vessels, trimethylamine oxide, intestinal epithelial barrier and kidney. Combined with the preliminary results of FXR involved in hypertension control, it is suggested that FXR may be a new target for hypertension intervention.
