Research Progress of Gastroretentive Drug Delivery System and Its Application in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Gastroretentive drug delivery systems which are ideal oral drug delivery systems can increase the gastric residence time and whole gastrointestinal transit time. They also can improve the absorption and clinical efficacy, so they are ideal drug delivery system. Therefore, the introduction of the progress of the novel gastroretentive drug delivery system was presented through literature review at home and abroad. The influence factors, classification and progress of related products of gastroretentive drug delivery systems(including gastric retenting drug delivery system for Chinese medicine) are summarized.
