Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study in vitro antioxidant activity and α-glucosidase inhibitions of fruit of Rosae roxburghii Tratt.. METHODS Antioxidant and free radical scavenging activities of ethanol extract of fruit of Rosae roxburghii were determined by DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging assay. α-Glucosidase inhibitions was determined by α-glucosidase inhibitory assay in vitro. RESULTS The ethanol extract of fruit of Rosae roxburghii showed significant DPPH radical scavenging activitity IC
50=(10.24±0.98)μg·mL
-1 and ABTS radical scavenging activity IC
50=(4.92±0.31)μg·mL
-1. The extract also exhibited a significant α-glucosidase inhibitory effect IC
50=(5.75±0.71)μg·mL
-1. CONCLUSION The fruit Rosae roxburghii have significant antioxidant and α-glucosidase inhibitory activities.
