Abstract: OBJECTIVE To explore the optimum method for extracting Hongqi capsules. METHODS The extraction technology was optimized by orthogonal design L9(34), and salidroside content was adopted as indexes. Factors of water quantity, extraction times and reflux duration were evaluated for their effects on extraction process. RESULTS The extraction times is the key factor, and the reflux duration is the second. The best extraction technique was adding 10 times of water, extracting for 3 times and each time for 3 hours. CONCLUSION The optimum method obtained by orthogonal design is practicable. The method is simple and easy to operate.
