Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze a rare adverse reaction of rituximab manifesting as decreased vision and blurred vision in a 48-year-old female patient with autoimmune nodopathy.
METHODS The adverse reactions of rituximab-related decreased vision and blurred vision were investigated by reviewing the patient’s clinical diagnosis and treatment course, combined with a systematic literature review.
RESULTS Based on the analysis of the patient’s clinical management and evaluation using the Naranjo’s assessment scale for adverse drug reactions, the patient’s symptoms of decreased vision and blurred vision were determined to be associated with rituximab administration.
CONCLUSION Rituximab is widely utilized in clinical practice, yet its adverse reactions exhibit diverse types and manifestations. This necessitates heightened vigilance among clinicians, who should enhance monitoring and management strategies to further improve the safety of rituximab therapy.
