Establishment and Study on the Quality Standard of Salvia Plebeia

OBJECTIVE To improve the quality standard of Salvia plebeia. METHODS By microscopic identification, TLC, moisture, total ash, content determination and so on to examine the Salvia plebeia. RESULTS Microscopic identification features were obvious; TLC were clear and easy to recognize; the moisture of Salvia plebeia was ≤12.0%, the total ash was≤10.0%, the dilute ethanol extract was ≥20.0%; protocatechuic acid showed a good linearity at 1.068-106.8 μg·mL^-1, its content shall ≥70 μg·g^-1. CONCLUSION The results might be used as important indicators for the quality standard of Salvia plebeia.
