    Systematic Review of Quetiapine Versus Risperidone in the Treatment of Senile Schizophrenia in China

    • OBJECTIVE To compare the differences in the efficacy and adverse reaction between quetipiapine and risperidone in the treatment of senile schizophrenia in China. METHODS the clinical control study of the quetiapine and risperidone in the treatment of the old schizophrenia was searched from January 2000 to December 2014, and the 12 literatures were evaluated by systematic review. RESULTS There was no significant difference of the efficacy of quetiapine and risperidone (P>0.05, OR=1.2, 95%CI: 0.90-1.62) and adverse drug reactions in the two groups, while insomnia, nausea, vomiting, liver function abnormal differences had statistical significance (P<0.05). The areaction of extrapyramidal system and bincreased weight indicated significantly(P<0.001, aOR=0.15, 95%CI: 0.10-0.20, bOR=0.3, 95%CI: 0.18-0.50), and other adverse reactions showed no statistical significance(P>0.05). CONCLUSION the efficacy of the quetiapine versus risperidone in the treatment of Chinese senile schizophrenia is fairly, but the adverse reactions of the quetiapine is mild.
