Comparision of Hemostatic Effects Between Tetraploid and Diploid Scutellariae Radix Cultivated in Gansu Province

    • OBJECTIVE To compare the hemostatic effects of tetraploid and diploid Scutellariae Radix cultivated in Gansu province. METHODS Seventy rats were randomly divided into 7 groups: normal control group, model control group, positive control group, diploid and tetraploid Scutellariae Radix groups, carbonized diploid and tetraploid Scutellariae Radix groups. The blood heating and bleeding model was established by giving decoction of Zingiberis Rhizoma combined with 5% ethanol for 15 d. Then each group adopted corresponding drugs for 7 d. Hemostatic effects of tetraploid and diploid Scutellariae Radix were compared by detecting bleeding time(BT), plasma recalcification time(PRT) and 4 items of blood coagulation function. RESULTS Compared with normal control group, BT, PRT, prothrombintime(PT), thrombin time(TT), activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT) of rats in model control group were prolonged significantly (P<0.05) and the content of fibrinogen(FIB) increased significantly(P<0.05). BT, PRT, PT, TT, APTT and FIB of rats in Scutellariae Radix groups were remarkably lower than those in model control groups(P<0.05). Compared with the same varieties of Scutellariae Radix, BT, PRT, PT, TT, APTT of rats in carbonized diploid and tetraploid Scutellariae Radix groups shortened significantly (P<0.05). CONCLUSION The hemostatic effects of tetraploid and diploid Scutellariae Radix decoction have no significant difference, but the carbonized diploid and tetraploid Scutellariae Radix have better hemostatic effects than the Scutellariae Radix.
