Research Advances of Structural Modification of Lentinan

OBJECTIVE To summarize the method of chemical structural modification and biological activity of lentinan. METHODS Reviewed the related papers of lentinan in Chinese and English literature in recent years, summarized the chemical structural modification methods and their activity systemly published in literature. RESULTS Structural modification method of lentinan had chemical modification including sulfating, carboxy methylation, phosphorylation, metal ion chelation and so on, physical and biological modification methods. Different modification method had great influence to lentinan activity. CONCLUSION Chemical structural modification and pharmacological activity of lentinan is still an important research area in future.
