Induction and analysis of the off-label uses on indications of cyclosporine A

OBJECTIVE To conclude the cases of the off-label uses on indications of cyclosporine A in clinical application and analyze whether these uses were scientific and reasonable so as to provide a reference to the clinicians and the pharmacists. METHODS Referring to drug labels, relevant literatures and professional website as well as combining with the actual uses of cyclosporine A in my hospital to conclude and analyze the off-label uses of cyclosporine A. RESULTS The off-label uses on indications of cyclosporine A included Wegener granulomatosis, severe ulcerative colitis, Sjgren’s syndrome, severe systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), keratoconjunctivitis sicca and autoimmune skin diseases. CONCLUSION The off-label uses on indications of cyclosporine A have certain reasonableness and scientificity. But we should pay attention to its usage and dosage, and adjust the dosage according to the patient’s blood concentrations in order to avoid the happening of severe adverse reactions.
