Study on the Bacteriostasis and Anti-inflammation Effects of the Compound Lung Protecting Granules

    • OBJECTIVE To investiate the bacteriostasis and anti-inflammation function of the Compound Lung Protecting granules. METHODS Use the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) values in vitro to observe the bacteriostasis effect. The anti-inflammation function of the Compound Lung Protecting granules was analyzed by its inhibition to the swelling of mouse pinna induced by dimethylbenzene, carrageenan induced rats’ paw edema, and by its inhibition to the chronic bronchitis of mouse pinna induced by 2% sulfur dioxide. RESULTS The MIC of the Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa was 0.15 g·mL-1. The MIC of the Staphylococcus aureus was 0.04 g·mL-1. There were statistically significant difference between the larg dosage(32.24 g·kg-1), middle dosage(16.12 g·kg-1) with the physiological saline. The dose of 32.24 g·kg-1 and 16.12 g·kg-1 against carrageenan induced rats’ paw edema, and disinfection of drinking water group were significant different(P<0.01 or P<0.05), and its anti-inflammatory effects were dose-dependent. Every treatment groups had different degree chronic inflammation of mouse bronchial epithelium. The lung tissue of mouse had no reveal cytopathic. CONCLUSION Compound Lung Protecting granules have bacteriostasis and anti-inflammation effects.
