Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic Effect of Triptolide Patches

    • OBJECTIVE To investigate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of triptolide patches. METHODS The mice ears swelling test, abdominal capillary permeability test, filter-paper-induced granuloma and carrageenin-induced pedal edema in the rats were used to observe the anti-inflammatory effect. While the hot plate test, writhing test and electrical stimulation test were adopted to study the analgesic effect of triptolide patches. RESULTS In the four anti-inflammatory animal models, the effects of triptolide patches (3.72, 7.44 and 14.88 mg·m-2) were observed. It also decreased twisting number induced by acetic acid, and improved threshold of pain to electric stimulation. CONCLUSION Triptolide patches can inhibit the inflammation and pain reaction.
