Analysis of the Application of Antibacterial Drugs in Pediatric Ward Before and After Special Rectification

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects of antibacterial special rectification on rational use of antibacterial drugs in pediatric wards of our hospital. METHODS Information of discharged patients and antibacterial use in respiratory ward of the hospital were analyzed retrospectively before(2012 Jan 1-2012 Jun 30) and after(2012 Jul 1-2012 Dec 31) rectification. RESULTS After rectification, the utilization rate of antibacterial decreased from 66.33% before rectification to 55.96% after rectification(P<0.05). The proportion of antibacterial cost in total drug decreased from 64.77% before rectification to 44.36% after rectification(P<0.05). AUD decreased from 53.4 DDDs/100 persons/d before rectification to 36.6 DDDs/100 persons/d after rectification(P<0.05). CONCLUSION The rational use of antimicrobial drug is improved and becoming more rational in pediatrics wards of our hospital through a series of effective measures including administrative and pharmaceutical controls.
