Impact of the Flowering on the Content of Stachydrine Hydrochloride and Leonurine Hydrochloride in Leonuri Herba

OBJECTIVE To study the impact of the flowering on the content of stachydrine hydrochloride and leonurine hydrochloride in Leonuri Herba. METHODS The samples of Leonuri Herba were harvested in different harvest period in Xinchang province. The content of stachydrine hydrochloride and leonurine hydrochloride in Leonuri Herba was determined according to pharmacopoeia methods. RESULTS In the flowering period, the content of stachydrine hydrochloride and leonurine hydrochloride kept decreasing. CONCLUSION Flowering had a great impact on the content of stachydrine hydrochloride and leonurine hydrochloride in Leonuri Herba, thus in the end of flowering period, Leonuri Herba cann’t be used as medicine.
