Preliminary Reports of Compound Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis Combined with Glucosamine Hydrochloride in the Treatment of Prometaphase Knee Osteoarthritis

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical effects and safety of Compound Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis combined with glucosamine hydrochloride (GS) in the treatment of prometaphase knee osteoarthritis (OA). METHODS From August 2010 to February 2011, 120 patients of outpatients were included in the study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups according to the use of compound Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis and glucosamine hydrochloride or glucosamine hydrochloride. Lequensne index was used to compare the clinical curative effect after half a year treatment. The symptom of knee post treatmentd and medical adverse reaction was observed. RESULTS There was no difference between the experiential group and control group of medical adverse reaction and clinical curative effect after 3 months treatments (P>0.05). But there was significant difference after 6 months treatment (P<0.05). CONCLUSION There were significant differences in efficacy and safety between two groups in the treatment of prometaphase knee OA. Compound Rhizoma Corydalis Decumbentis has little side effect and has good curative effect for knee OA.
