    Effect of Panax Quinquefolium Capsule on Chromosome and Micronucleus of Murine Bone Marrow

    • OBJECTIVE To study the inherent toxic effect of angli Panax quinquefolium capsule on murine bone marrow by chromosome aberration and micronucleus test. METHODS Angli Panax quinquefolium capsule were administered at doses of 0.9, 1.8, 3.6 g·kg-1, then the rates of chromosome aberration and micronucleus were calculated by observing slices of the bone marrow cells. RESULTS There was no significant difference between the blank control group and the treated groups of the rates of chromosome aberration and micronucleus (P>0.05), while signiticant difference was observed between the positive control group and the solvent control group(P<0.01). CONCLUSION Angli Panax quinquefolium capsule does not induce chromosome aberration and micronucleus under the dosage of the test.
