Criteria of Quality Control for Burmann Cinnamon Bark

OBJECTIVE To provide experiment basis by setting up the quality control specification of Burmann Cinnamon Bark. METHODS The pharmacognostic methods were employed. The volatile oils, ash content and moisture were determined by gas chromatography. RESULTS The morphological and histological characters of Burmann Cinnamon Bark from different origins were observed, the results showed good consistency. There was a good linear relationship of borneol in the range of 0.052 8-1.056 μg(r=0.999 9), the average recovery was 98.8% (RSD=1.0%). CONCLUSION The method provides reference for the quality control of Burmann Cinnamon Bark.
