Screening of Antalgic Fractions of Coicis Semen

OBJECTIVE To screen the antalgic fractions of Coicis Semen. METHODS The antalgic effect was observed by mice hot-plate test, mice tail-immersion test and mice writhing test, being given the four fractions from ethanol extract of Coicis Semen Decoction via the gastric perfusion. RESULTS The four fractions had antalgic effect, among which the petroleum ether fraction and ethyl acetate fraction were more effective. CONCLUSION Coicis Semen Decoction has antalgic effect. The active parts are in petroleum ether fraction and ethyl acetate fraction.
