Synthesis for Ambroxol Hydrochloride

OBJECTIVE To synthesis ambroxol hydrochloride and optimize the process. METHODS Ambroxol hydrochloride was synthesized from methyl 2-aminobenzoate via bromination, reduction, oxidation, condensation and salification. RESULTS Chemical structure of ambroxol hydrochloride was confirmed by ¹H-NMR, MS and IR. The total yield of ambroxol hydrochloride was 54.6%. CONCLUSION The starting materials are easy to get and the method is simple. The total impurities content are <0.1%, and the method is suitable for industry.
