Analysis of 256 Cases’ Clinical Pharmacists Consultations

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To understand the situation of clinical pharmacists consultations in our hosptial, and to study the consultation system and training model of clinical pharmacists. METHODS A retrospective analysis was conducted on the 256 cases of medical records in our hosptial during January to December in 2009. RESULTS The average rate of the consultation was 4.7 cases a week, 46.15% of the clinical departments had invited the clinical pharmacists in consulation. More frequent consulations appeared in these departments: department of tuberculosis(25.0%), department of neurology(14.8%), orthopaedics (12.1%). The main consultation contents were about the bacterial infection questions, and the resistant bacterial infection occupied the first place(49.2%). CONCLUSION The clinical pharmacists take part in the consultation is very necessary and effective to assist the clinical department to diagnosis and treatment, it is not only beneficial to clinical pharmacists to enrich knowledge and experience, but also benefit to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and patient’s recovery.
