Rapid Detection of Piroxicam and Meloxicam

OBJECTIVE To establish rapid detection method of piroxicam and meloxicam illegally added into anti-rheumatic traditional Chinese medicine. METHODS Identification by chemical methods to rapid screen, and to further verify by the thin-layer chromatography. RESULTS The chemical identification and thin-layer chromatography can rapid detect the anti-rheumatic traditional Chinese medicine illegally added ingredients piroxicam and meloxicam. CONCLUSION The method is simple, rapid, accurate and specific. It can be used in the rapid detection of piroxicam and meloxicam illegally mixed into anti-rheumatic traditional Chinese medicine, and it also can be equipped at the national application of the faster cars seized.
