Abstract
OBJECTIVE To optimize the ultrasonic extraction process of the chlorogenic acid in Flos Lonicerae Japonicae. METHODS With the content of chlorogenic acid as index, the process was optimized by response surface methodology. The following factors such as ratio of solid to liquid, extraction time, the concentration of alcohol, etc. were evaluated. RESULTS The optimum extraction condition was as follows: ratio of solid to liquid, 1∶14; ethanol concentration, 58%; extraction time, 27 min. The yield of chlorogenic acid is 1.39% in the optimized conditions. CONCLUSION This extraction process can be used for extracting the chlorogenic acid in Flos Lonicerae Japonicae. It is simple, stable and reproducible.
